Antique Mall Rat

I found out about this place from hearing it mentioned on the radio one day when I was in Newmarket bumming around the thrift shops there. They were at the antiques shop doing a live-to-air broadcast because there was also a car show going on there. Without anything else to do that night I headed over. I thought it was a pretty neat antique "mall" so I brought my parents there this past weekend since I knew they'd appreciate it. It's a pretty big building with booths that different dealers have their stuff in so the contents aren't limited to the tastes of one dealer which was a nice touch. Like any good store of its ilk, you could spend hours in there and stuff is piled up all over the place. If you want to check it out, it's approximately here. I didn't grab a shot of the sign, but here is a picture snagged from Google Street View:

Here are a few pictures of some interesting stuff I came across in the store:
"Get Wise. Double Size."

Cast Book ends

Scrimshawed Powder Horns (1K a piece)

Some more cool Scrimshaw including a bird's beak on the right

Undeniably Cool Restroom Decoration

I ended up picking up this Gillette safety razor. I'm looking forward to cleaning it up, getting some blades and putting it back into service.
